WIKAIKON Commitment to Sustainable Mangrove Planting at Ketapang Urban Aquaculture

Tangerang — WIKA Group conducted a mangrove planting activity at Ketapang Urban Aquaculture, Tangerang, as part of the implementation of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program focused on environmental conservation and strengthening coastal ecosystem resilience (4/12).

This program reflects WIKA Group’s ongoing commitment to reinforcing sustainability initiatives in line with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activity was carried out in collaboration with Lindungi Hutan and involved participation from all company entities, including its subsidiary WIKAIKON.

The event was attended by Vidi Julianto, Director of Finance, HC & Risk Management of WIKAIKON; Hadjar Seti Adji, Director of Human Resource Management and Transformation of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk; representatives from other WIKA subsidiaries’ boards of directors; and the WIKA Group TJSL PIC responsible for coordinating the execution of sustainability programs.

“If the national target aims to achieve net zero by 2060, we at WIKAIKON intend to move faster. I am confident that WIKAIKON can achieve zero net CO by 2030, or at the latest by 2035, through consistent application of sustainability culture in every project. Whatever environmental impact we cause during our work must be restored. That is our commitment, and I believe WIKAIKON can achieve it ahead of the general target set,” said Vidi Julianto.

As a form of commitment to coastal ecosystem restoration, WIKA Group planted and handed over 1,000 mangrove seedlings at the activity site. This initiative is expected to create long-term ecological benefits, from preventing coastal abrasion and strengthening coastal area resilience to contributing to climate change mitigation.

The mangrove planting program also serves as a momentum to reinforce WIKA Group’s commitment—along with all its subsidiaries, including WIKAIKON—to supporting sustainable development. The implementation of this activity reflects the synergy within WIKA Group and its subsidiaries in preserving environmental sustainability and delivering lasting benefits for communities and Indonesia’s coastal ecosystems.
